Rheem Classic (RANL-AZ Series) 13 SEER condensing unit details
If you landed here because you’ve seen “AC Classic” mentioned on our site and want the specifics in one place, you’re in the right spot. This page preserves the key details for the Rheem Classic: RANL-AZ Series—a 13 SEER condensing unit that uses R-410A refrigerant.
We’ve been servicing the Reno–Sparks and surrounding areas since 1991, and our goal has always been simple: maintain complete customer satisfaction by providing consistent top quality service. We specialize in residential and light commercial heating, air conditioning, and ventilation—including new construction (“building from the ground up”), retrofits, repairs, service, and preventative maintenance for HVAC equipment.
Rheem Classic Series at a glance
The RANL model features Earth-friendly R-410A refrigerant—part of the idea that “Rheem Green is more than skin deep.” If you’re comparing options, the features below are the big highlights called out for this Classic series unit.

Built for the outdoors: cabinet and base pan
Outdoor equipment lives a rough life—sun, wind, weather, and whatever the yard throws at it. The Rheem Classic unit’s physical build is designed with that reality in mind:
Wraparound cabinet: Rheem air conditioning units are constructed with a powder-coat paint finish and galvanized steel cabinet to help protect the condensing coil fins from yard hazards, extreme weather, and corrosion.
Base pan: The Rheem air conditioning line uses a sturdy, one-piece drawn and painted base pan. This pan elevates the coil off the pad, helping minimize corrosion while also reducing sound and vibration.
Cooling coil design and service access
When you’re looking at an AC system, the design details matter—both for performance and for serviceability down the road.
Outdoor coil: Rheem air conditioning units use an innovative wraparound outdoor coil constructed of copper tubing and aluminum fins. This design allows improved airflow transfer and helps reduce energy consumption.
Easy-access panel: Servicing your Rheem air conditioning unit is easier thanks to the single “easy access” panel. A service technician can remove this panel to access the compressor and control box.
Pressure controls (model-dependent)
To help protect the compressor from pressure extremes, Rheem installs high and low pressure controls on high-efficiency models, with these controls available as options on standard-efficiency models.
Warranty information (as listed for this unit)
Warranty details are often a deciding factor, so we keep them clear and straightforward here.
- Conditional Parts Warranty – 10 years (registration required)
- Compressor Warranty – 10 years
- Limited Parts Warranty – 5 years
